Bill Gorby & The Musical Mercenaries
Bill Gorby and The Musical Mercenaries is a trio of Ohio Valley musicians and singers who perform an eclectic array of Americana music with roots in folk, bluegrass, and old-time country music, with a diverse mix of traditional songs, classic and modern tunes. The band is noted for their three-part harmonies.
The band is led by Bill Gorby who sings lead and plays bass in the band. Bill has performed over the past 35 years in a number of area bands, including Peach’s Little Band, the Buck Allemond Blue Grass Band, and Hardly Herd Band. Bill has made several appearances at the Wheeling Jamboree, has played at Mountain Moon Coffee House and Black Sheep Vineyard.
Bill’s accompanists, The Musical Mercenaries, include Buc Allemond on guitar, harmonica and vocals and Jim Simpson on mandolin and vocals. Buc has performed in the Ohio Valley in various bands including Buc Allemond Bluegrass band and Roger Hoard Jazz Band. Jim has performed in the Ohio Valley in various bands including Cabin Fever Sting Band.
