Sweetwater’s Maple Products was started in 2020. Unlike generational maple producers, Mike Stahl tapped his first tree as a boy of 57 (funny, but true). He built a small evaporator out of a 55-gallon drum and made 14 gallons of syrup that year. He was immediately hooked and talked his wife, Judy, into joining him in this adventure. By 2021, they had 2,900 taps and produced just shy of 1,000 gallons of maple syrup in their newly formed company.

Not only did they make silky-smooth maple syrup, but they also tackled maple glazed nuts, maple candy, maple cream and maple sugar, and maple popcorn. In the fall of 2021, they added Bourbon-Barrel Aged Maple Syrup and they just recently added maple cotton candy to their product line. This business has been a labor of love and combines Mike’s love of the outdoors and Judy’s creative side.

In the 2022 season, they expanded to 3,500 taps and have plans to increase to 4,500 taps by 2023. Although new to the maple syrup business, Mike and Judy are proud to offer a full line of maple products and pride themselves on taking nature’s resources and creating delicious, all-natural maple treats!

See them both at booth 111.
