Jake “Barefoot” McCoy is a Folk/Americana singer-songwriter and musician based in Ohio. In addition to his own original music, he plays classic and traditional favorites from the American folk songbook. Barefoot’s music is characterized by his distinctive instrumental work on the piano, guitar and banjo. Jake is kin to the legendary Doc Watson. Some of Jake’s other influences include Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, John Denver and Cat Stevens.
Jake spent several years living in Kentucky playing folk music during hot shoeless summers. It was in this backdrop that he earned the nickname “Barefoot” from his Kentucky friends.
Barefoot McCoy is celebrating the release of his latest album, Summer in My Soul.
